Mike kicks off the broadcast with Mary Kay Thatcher, director of public policy, Syngenta, about the possibilities of a farm bill in 2024; looking down the road to other policies, including regulations from the EPA; and trade agreements.

Ted Siefried, Zaner Ag Hedge, joins Mike at the desk to recap the 2023 markets, and look forward to what can be expected in 2024, including: South American impact on corn, ethanol, risk management strategies, soybean concerns, wheat pull-back and more.

Greg Soulje is in with a weather forecast for the week.

Max talked to Keri Jacobs, University of Missouri, about training and working with farmers who are board members in ag organizations. She also talks about the qualities of board members.

Lorrie Boyer reports from Colorado at Jack’s Solar Garden. The operation uses agritourism, as well as photovoltaic panels on the farm to keep the farm business going. Byron Kominek talks about the panels and how it works.

In the Plan Smart, Grow Smart segment, Max talks to Albre Brown, technical marketing manager, BASF, about pest control in soybean field, including fungicide options, benefits to preventive application and more.
