Kobe Beef is produced from Tajima cattle, purebred seeding cattle produced in Hyogo Prefecture. The cattle are raised in comfortable natural environments, surrounded by clean air, limpid streams, and rich grass fields in the mountains of Tajima, according to the Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Promotion Association. This environment, the association explains, produces top-quality marbled beef that is both tender and flavorful.
“The exclusive lineage and precise breeding techniques developed in Japan ensure that Kobe Beef stands alone in terms of its flavor and texture, making it one of the most sought-after luxury food items,” notes the association.
Fewer than 50 restaurants and distributors in the United States are certified to serve authentic Kobe beef, making this an extraordinary milestone for Texas.
Walter Wilkerson, co-founder of Forum Meat Company, says, “Offering authentic Kobe Beef is an exciting addition to our unique product line. Kobe beef is extremely hard to find outside of Japan, and we are thrilled to now offer it in Texas. Our membership in the Kobe Beef Marketing & Distribution Association gives us the unique opportunity to bring this extraordinary beef to certified restaurants and retailers across the state. It’s an exclusive, high-quality product that will elevate the dining experience for anyone lucky enough to try it.”
As the only certified supplier in Texas, Forum Meat Company will make authentic Kobe Beef accessible to restaurants and retailers that meet the association's strict quality standards. The rich history and unparalleled quality of Kobe Beef, coupled with Forum Meat’s commitment to delivering premium products, will provide discerning diners in Texas the opportunity to experience one of the world’s finest meats right in their home state.
