The dietary guidelines are released every 5 years and that means they are due in 2025.
Several beef and pork organizations have raised concern say the new requirements are more about what's popular that what is healthy.
The proposal for the new rules was released last week
The NCBA says beef has protein sources that can't get in other things.
The groups are pushing for scientific proof for the diet instead of what some think the American diet should include.
There are limited proposed on red meat which could hurt the American diet, health concerns and the American farmer.
